Lacquering or certonal coating of electronic components Basically, you can choose between both processes at s.e.t. electronics GmbH.
Selective coating is certainly the most common and most widely used process.
Whenever moisture or condensation protection is sufficient or the arrangement of the components on the circuit board does not permit selective coating with process reliability, our customers use Certonal coating.
In Certonal coating, the assembly is immersed in a fluoropolymer solution and dried. The coating, with a thickness of approx. 1 µm, encloses the fully assembled module on both sides without impairing its functionality. Contacts do not usually have to be covered for this purpose. However, it is advisable to check whether all components are suitable for Certonal coating.
Of course, we can also provide qualification samples for you.
